Bandung Bandung.
If anyone ever tells you that Bandung is a wonderful place to shop, please tell me and i will go and slap them. Seriously, unless you like poorly made, back-dated or ‘branded’ stuff, shopping in Malaysia is 10 times better than shopping in Bandung. Sure stuff are cheap but I wouldn’t want most of the clothes there even if they were given to me for free.
But not everything is bad… MOST things are bad but not everything. I managed to find a couple of pieces that I liked but I wouldn’t call them a bargain. All the cheap stuff are ugly. Bandung con people one, if you want reasonably nice and good quality stuff, the price is about the same as KL and KL probably even has a bigger range to choose from. If you want cheap stuff, then you only get the bad quality and ugly stuff. –______-
Really potong-ed my steam.
But travelling from one factory outlet to another was an experience… tiring but still an experience. We must have visited about 4 to 5 factory outlets in one day!
Eating flavored snow-ice… I think that’s what its called.
Kat enjoying her strawberry snow-ice.
This is what they call a factory outlet. >__<
Bandung’s eating places are very…interesting. They have all sorts of funny funny things on their menus and all the restaurants seem to have fish ponds and play annoying music. I think the menus are very interesting because their 10million types of ‘ikan gurame’ takes up a quarter of the menu and the other 10million types of ‘ayam timbel’ takes up another quarter. Then the other half is mainly drinks and funny dishes like ‘sop buntut’. Seriously, I thought they really meant butt soup but in the end I found out they meant oxtail soup… but to call it ‘sop buntut’?!!.. I mean.. really!! O___O
One of their desserts, ‘Pisang bakar with keju’
An example of how stuffed we were. hahah!
On nights that we were too lazy to go out for dinner, we dined at our hotel’s(we stayed at Novotel) restaurant. Every morning was a buffet breakfast and the spread was quite a variety… Ever the cereal addict as I always am, I was very happy they had normal cereal and not funny stuff like ‘buntut crunch’. But I did try different types of food from the hotel menu for dinner… stuff like ‘Nasi Goreng buntut’ and ‘Boiled bakmi noodles’. They actually tasted quite nice…
The ‘nasi goreng buntut’ and ‘boiled bakmi noodles’.
We had normal food too just in case.. heheh!
Dessert was ‘roti bakar with jam and cheese’. I never imagined it to come out looking like that.
Indonesian street food is also quite fascinating. They have all sorts of funny looking things that are actually eatable, like thin, bumpy, pancake look-a-likes and tons of fried ball ball things and kuehs with cheese and chocolate in them. There was once we stopped by this street stall to take away fried rice and indo mee too… and it was sooo tasty!
There was one afternoon when we decided to torment ourselves by riding for 30 minutes on ridiculously bumpy roads up the mountain just to visit this famous place called ‘Kampung Daun’ for lunch. The whole journey, both smooth and bumpy roads took about 2 hours before we finally reached the place.
I wouldn’t exactly call ‘Kampung Daun’ a restaurant. It looked more like a small village. Small huts lined the sides of the walkway and it was like eating in a place that came right out of The Jungle Book.
What I had: ‘Ayam Bakar Bumbu’… I think it’s called that.
Dessert!… Fried ice cream and banana fritters.
I think the part I liked most about Bandung was when we visited the volcano site. It was quite chilly up the mountain but it was beautiful seeing the dead volcano down below. There were a lot of people selling funny things like fur hats and wooden spoons. Justin wanted a fur hat…
Hat seller: Want to buy hat? Touch..very soft!
Jus: *reaches out to almost touch*
Hat Seller: It is Labbit(Rabbit)…
Jus: Aaackk!
Why why must they kill innocent lil rabbits and make them into fur hats!! It’s disgusting!
Anyway, there was this tiny village-type market up the mountain.. it kinda looked like those olden-time Korean villages. It was quite cute with it’s tiny, windy street and tiny straw-roofed huts with little trinkets hanging all around.
On the way up to see the volcano. Beautiful, ain’t it? Kinda reminded me a lil bit of the movie Twilight.
We were told there was still an active volcano around but it would be a long walk in the forest to get there. Still, we wanted to take a look so with the help of a tour guide and two of the street sellers(not the labbit man), we set off for a two hour long jungle trek before we finally smelled the distinct smell of sulphur. But the walk in the forest wasn’t all boring. It kinda looked a bit like an enchanted forest.
That is actually a tree bark. It has patterns on it! Ain’t it pretty?!
I don’t think I will be visiting Bandung anytime soon… somehow, I still prefer Bali. But it was an experience and I finally got to see a volcano which didn’t really turn out to look like what I expected it to look. Shopping was oh so terrible but I guess shopping’s not everything and the food was nice but all the same.
Next destination… Seoul on the 2nd of July!! I can’t wait!!
Anyhoo… hope everyone back in Melbourne is doing fine for their exams. I wish all of them the best of luck and shower them with all my love and hugs! ^_____^

Run to Me Darling.
Oh la tah… I’m back from Bandung! Haven’t been blogging because of my busy busy assignment period before my flight back to Malaysia.
Everyone’s still having exams in Melbourne and I’m already back home. I miss them already!
The two weeks before I came back to Malaysia was spent rushing all my assignments which included a whole lot of sleepless nights. Staying up till 7.30a.m. and waking up at 3.00p.m. did not do to good to my health and my eye bags are humongous!!
But it wasn’t all bad… there was some fun in it too come to think of it. We(Daniel) baked a lot!! For a whole week straight, banana cakes and chocolate cakes and blueberry muffins popped out of the oven at 4.00a.m. for us hungry study-ers to devour!
The husband and wife fighting over the beater.
The chocolate cake Joyie and I baked. It wasn’t suppose to look like this… It was suppose to be chocolate mousse cake but it just turned out looking like this. Nobody wanted to eat it so me and Joyie ate the whole thing. LOL! But it was yummy okay!
Dan’s banana cake which looked way better. People actually wanted to eat it. I don’t understand..my chocolate cake was good too!.. it just lacked in the looks department!
This Friday is suppose to be after exams clubbing night but unfortunately I won’t be there with all of them because I’m 10000000 miles away! Anyhoo… my last night clubbing in Melbourne was fun and overall it was a good last clubbing night before returning back to Malaysia to be a good good girl.
Joyie just told me that everyone is not feeling to well recently. Hope all of you recover and get well soon! Eat cupcakes to cheer up!! ^___^
Love love like cupcakes!! Aren’t they just sooo pretty and dainty… I just wonder how to eat them cuz I wont know where to start.
“Dear can you even see me, did you forget completely?”

You are so Cheesy.
OMFG! I weighed myself and I gained 2kg! All in 2 weeks! Finishing a box of Crunchy nut at 3a.m. this morning didn’t do me good either.
And you really don’t wanna know what we did with cheese the night before. I’ll just tell you anyway… So we had a whole packet of shredded Mozzarella cheese. It was around 1.00a.m. when Dan took out the nachos, topped it with cheese and melted it in the oven. It was so delicious, me and Joyie made another batch and practically covered it with cheese and barbeque sauce.
After the nachos, we started making cheese toast. I put a slice of cheese on white bread and topped it with a vey thick layer of Mozzarella. When it was in the oven, I could see the cheese oozing down the bread and onto the aluminum foil! Seriously, the thickness of the cheese was as thick as my thumb! And then I made it special for Joyie by calling it my Love Love cheese toast!
Okay… gym today. No procrastinating this time. I will burn off at least 600 400 calories, I swear to myself. I have to do it for my body if not I will never get to wear my pretty but unbreathable Supre dress ever again!
Diet plan:
1) No desserts!
2) No sweet treats!
3) No eating after dinner.
4) Only eat one proper meal per day.
5) GYM GYM GYM!!!
6) NO MORE CHEESE!!
I refuse to let that 2kg of fats stay in my body!
On the bright side, I managed to wake up for EMT tute today to turn in my progress report and book the final meeting date. So yes, my 20% has not gone down the drain. And my assignments are all done for this week but I’m gonna have to start on the new ones soon.
Plus, there are no tutes for tomorrow because of the teachers strike so I can finally sleep in. I really hope they continue the strike so that assignment dates will be pushed back. Social Comm is already pushed back to June so I’m all smiles with that. And I’ll also have more time to go to the library because the last time I went there was about a week ago. Should also start on incorporating sounds into my video mash-up so I don’t need to go to the lab at night again which I despise because the campus quite creepy when it gets dark.
VII tomorrow again. But I still have photos of last week…
This is what happens when my camera gets hijacked…
At least he didn’t cut me out with his stupid finger.
I’ve been watching a whole lot of football lately, mainly because the guys always catch the game while we’re having dinner. Like I know MU beat Arsenal 0-0 but won because they are a few points ahead or something like that… and for me to know this is very unusual because honestly, I hate watching football.
I can say the only time I enjoy watching it is when i’m watching people I know play it. There was one night when me, Jen and Joyie followed the guys to Brunswick to watch them play futsal in the league and it was actually quite interesting. The guys won in the end of course, 9-2 I think.
The guys are the team in white btw.
And check out Aaron Leong’s tattoo! I think it’s damn awesome! He got it done at Borneo Ink and it’s so pretty! I don’t think I can ever get one that big because by the time it’s finished, I probably wouldn’t be able to speak anymore as a result of screaming.

You spin my head right round, right round.
Aigoooo… I’m ballooning up like crazy. In no time, I’ll be matching the weight of a whale in no time! Even Jen had to help me control my eating. >___< and I’m supposed to be on my honey lemon diet but so far I haven’t even drank one cup yet.
But I’m sooo relieved that I’m done with my Comm and Social Relations presentation. I had to present my artefacts last Thursday and I only started writing my cue cards on Wednesday night at Ernest’s place. Still, the presentation went better than expected. I was expecting a bad feedback but it turned out okay so I’m satisfied.
And I finally got around to developing my photos for the WMT assignment today. Luckily, Office Works didn’t close yet. Plus, I also managed to clean up my apartment and do some groceries at Safeway. I swear, the only food I have in my house is cereal and milk, chocolates, biscuits and instant noodles…oh! and a pack of Taro bun. I’m just so lazy to cook and I always end up eating out anyway.
Oh yes, belated Dandenong pictures! A bunch of us went up Dandenong mountain just to try the best pies in Australia. The place is called “Pie in the Sky”. heheh! Cute right?… the pies and scones there were so awesome and it was so worth travelling for it! We ordered 8 different types and finished all of them. I was so busy eating it that I forgot to take pictures…oh well.
In the bus after the long train ride.
It took a one hour train ride and another half hour on the bus to reach our destination. This is not counting the waiting time for the bus to arrive.
‘Pie in the Sky’ was full and it was a long wait for a table so we decided to check explore the little shops around. The whole place looked so quaint and country like. It was so pretty in its own way. Like a private little town tucked away from modernity.
Me and Joyie were so curious to check all the shops that we just started to wander away from the rest…
It’s actually soap and batch stuff but they made it look so pretty!!! Imagine using a soap which looks like a cupcake!
And then we found a sweet shop! So naturally, we rushed in and bought chocolate fudge and gummy bears to share with the rest. heheh!
We were all starving for some delicious pie and finally our table was ready! I seriously thought ‘Pie in the Sky’ would be a cafe high up overlooking the whole mountain but it wasn’t. It was just a cafe on stilts. LOL! So con-job one the name!
kekeke! Jay Tsen and his orange juice.
So we ate until we were so bloated and couldn’t eat anymore dinner. hahah! It took us around 2 hours to get up there and another 1 hour waiting time for the table just to eat the pies and then go back home. It was fun nonetheless and Dandenong mountain is so pretty! You never see stuff like these in the city.
Work Hard, Play Hard. Weekdays are spent doing assignments and weekends are when I can let my hair down and enjoy after the many hours spent slaving away on essays in front of my laptop and the late nights editing videos and photo montages at the RMIT lab.
Bond Lounge Character Night- I was suppose to go after VII but in the end I was too tired and met the rest at Chili Malam for supper. Awww, and I was already in my Hawaiian girl dress… oh well. Mel was even more dressed up than me, completed with those Hawaiian flower necklace things(I’ve forgotten what they were called) and in a long, flowy, flowery dress.
Birthday at Lavish- Since I have been maintaining a good, sober girl attitude for most of the clubbing nights, I decided to let loose a bit that night. Me and Mel got ready at home before going to Joyie’s house. I swear, everytime I get ready with Mel, we take hours because of the endless fooling around and selca-ing.
Then we wanted to be mannequins…
We did get to Joyie’s house in time though… ^___^
And finally to the club!

Crazy Asians
Went M.I.A for quite some time. That’s because I have been so busy this past two weeks. Ava came to visit so everyday consisted of outings and late nights fuelled with alcohol and endless nonsense. But along with herself, Ava brought my BB REAL Concert and my new pink Canon camera!! So I’m happy happy!
Seriously, I visited so many more places in these two weeks than I did the whole of last year. We went on a trip to Torquay with Jay Tsen, Daniel, Chiok and gang. I met so many new people there and made new friends. I met two new girlfriends, Joyie and Jennifer which is great because I am seriously deficient in the girlfriends section… most of my friends are usually guys. I think I can count the number of girls I hang out with using one hand. But I’m not complaining, I’m very contented with having just Suet anyway. ^___^ Hrmmm, maybe I should count Gabby as a girl too since he’s the bitchiest of all.
Picture time!! I have so many many pictures so I guess I’m gonna have to filter them out. Let’s start with Torquay Torquay!!
View from our backyard. Pretty right?!
One of the beaches at Torquay.
Jay Tsen told me Torquay is the surfing capital of Australia so I wanted to try surfing but it was too damn cold and I was scared of my all the shark attack stories I’ve been hearing.. plus, I’m very sucky-bucly at swimming.
The first night was quite relaxing because everyone was so tired from all the travelling and the raining, freezing weather. We had BBQ for dinner and played a few drinking games after that before everyone retired to sleep for the day.
On the second day, it was still pretty chilly out but the sun was up so we decided to go to a different beach. Once we got there, the weather became worse. I swear it was like 5 degrees out and other than a couple of daring surfers, we were the only ones there. Jay Tsen called us the ‘Crazy Asians’ and I think we really lived up to the name because this was what happened…
I decided to keep my sanity and stood on the deck wrapped in one of the guys’ jacket on top of my own laughing at the shirtless guys frolicking about in the icy water. Gosh, it was a miracle no one was sick after that.
We had a very unhealthy but yummy dinner that night… pork chops, steak, buttered broccoli, baked mushrooms and cheese, garlic bread and bread pudding! I swear, Torquay seriously made me balloon up like a big fat… balloon! Every second I’ll be munching on stuff with Joyie be it nachos, Tim Tams or Dan’s awesome cheese and sausage eggs!
After dinner, we played Mafia and losers had to drink shots. Yes, every game we played involved alcohol. But yours truly didn’t get drunk to my surprise. ^___^
One of the dares was to act out a wedding. Jen and Ernest were bride and groom, Jay Tsen was the priest reading from a travel book, Xiang was bestman, Joyie was the bridesmaid who carried a bottle of alcohol instead of a bouquet of flowers and Keng Heng was the veil holder! hahah!
All in all, Torquay was pretty fun. Unhealthy but fun! I think I would die from alcohol poisoning if we were to extend another one more night!…
I tried my luck at Crown Casino as well. It was my first time gambling in a casino so I didn’t really understand how all the games worked. The first game we played was Roulette. Jay Tsen gave me and Ava some chips to bet on numbers. Lucky Lucky us! The ball hit the first number Ava bet on! And after that it hit the numbers I bet on twice in a row! So we earned $130 that night! Shopping Shopping!! '
Me, Jay Tsen, Ava, Chiok and Daniel.
My awesome new skyscraper heels!! I swear, my legs have so many bruises from wearing heels but they are just too pretty to stop wearing!!
I learned how to play poker as well and I must admit, it is quite addicting! Seriously, all I wanted to do was stay at Jay Tsen’s place and play poker all night long but all of them shoot me and say I’m so anti-social so I gave in and we went out. >___<
One morning, the guys decided we would go and have a picnic at St. Kilda beach. They made enough sandwiches to feed the whole of Ethiopia and brought along comforters because it was so cold. We were the only ones having a picnic that day, people must have thought we were mental to have a picnic on such a cold COLD day. Crazy Asians I tell you!
Michele’s surprise birthday was on that night as well. Me, Suet, Shen, Yee Hooi, Caitlin, Jun Jing, Carmen and Ava decorated Kinky’s room and waited for Jiah Lit to bring her home from her Flare practice. Then surprise surprise..!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY KINKY BUNNY!! I LOVE LOVE U! So so much!!
And I finally got to eat Max Brenners!! Chocolate craving satisfied!!
No one can deny that this looks effin’ awesome!
After it all went down the bottomless pit which is my stomach.
And of course, we went clubbing as well. How could we possibly not?….
Destination: VII Nightclub.
I think I’ll leave Dandenong for next time. Busy busy…working tonight so I have to go. I’ll leave this post with one last picture. I recently became the godmother of lovely lovely Ebbie!! Joyie’s cute, lil, Maltese mixed Pomeranian!
